Mentioned in Despatches
Reason: AWARDED Mention in Dispatches (MID) for situational awareness, noting a grenade being thrown by a Chelt Cong guerilla down an apparently clear ladder hole in a command fortification, and proceeding to investigate and recover the USMC casualty at the foot of the aforementioned ladder after eliminating the guerilla during Operation Graphic Rabbit. Re-gathered and re-organised the unit after being scattered and taking heavy casualties from heavy weapons fire, allowing unit to continue mission
Written by Admin
For managing a hectic and serious number of casualties as the remaining medical team member in spite of being at ground zero when an RPG landed in their midst and being invaluable in bringing the team back from the brink

During an incident where much of EGR were casualties Clapham was, for a time, the sole medic conscious. They performed they duties under extreme stress and intense fire unflinchingly, always focussing on the wellbeing of their patients. Due to their efforts and courage the.crotical situation was turned around and EGR become operationally effective again. Without their efforts the mission was fully in doubt.

This isn't for me, its for my fire team. During the push towards the final objective Yellow team came into contact with the enemy directly in the path of our route of advance. The chelt were dug in on the high ground in cover. Yellow team's instant reaction, without order or hesitation was to meet the enemy with overwhelming aggression and force, launching a direct assault on the position, taking the hill, clearing the area and fighting through without breaking stride. This action meant that only minor casualties were taken and these were easily dealt with. Easily the smoothest work I have seen in some time with each member of the team staying in their lane and communicating with their squad mates to give mutual support They pressed the attack, covered each others' reloads and killed all the chelt. Its enough to bring a tear this 0331's eye. Commendation to cover Wrench, Misstep, Gucci and Clapman.

Engaged and destroyed enemy armoured vehicle that was moving to engage the bill of the squad and call on fire on their position. Chaos manoeuvred his squad to a flanking position and engaged the enemy armoured vehicle with his M60. Penetrating the thing flanks and destroying it and it's occupants.

For grit and Determination in the face of squad losses. maintaining blue teams operational status, and for taking a friendly grenade like a champ and walking it off (With some help) inside Molotov rock

for being a great recon, identifying a submarine almost every one else missed. for locating intel leading to that sub that would have gone unnoticed.

Misstep, at an insane level of personal risk took the initiative to search for downed squad members while under direct and and effective fire from an enemy stronghold equipped with a recoiless rifle. His heroic actions showed bravery and courage under fire in the cause of saving his fellow marines.

In this, and previous mission, Misstep spotted critical features that significantly affected the success of the operation. When hunting for SA2 sites Misstep spotted on off the squads patrol route allowing for the positions of the whole complex to be estimated and engaged in detail. Navigating squad to the objective we ease. In Graphic Carrot he spotted an unusual feature and when eventually he was tasked to investigate it, found a concealed enemy sub acting as a radio station relay concealed in a shallow pool. In addition Misstep volunteered to search for two EGR who were believed to be casualties in overwatched no-mans-land and participated at the front of several assaults on key positions.

Excellent situational awareness meant that PFC Gucci spotted a grenade disappearing down a ladder and took the initiative to see if there were comrades bleeding out at the bottom of it as a result. Reader, there were. It was me.

Dear Misty Sue Beth Rae,

I have received temporary orders to a higher level command! The US Government has entrusted me to lead the expedition to McMurdo Station during the dark season. I understand that it will have minimum manning, which is why my role is so important! I am very excited to get the Artic Service ribbon, and to spend this time commanding an entire installation. I hope to return to my Platoon after this brief sojourn though, since I can tell how much they respect and like me. Will send updates soon,

Yours,

QQ Havercruft III
