Operation: Op Crust Opening - The dastardly French have made a sly, backroom deal to sell dairy centrafuges to the North Chelt government. To prevent them from using this technology to increase the intensity of fat in their cream, EGR is tasked with a search and recovery mission. Using helos to search the landscape, find the convoys carrying these centrafuges, secure the trucks, then recover them to any available US base.
Medal: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation
Reason: AWARDED Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for sweeping and clearing a halted convoy to allow the remainder of the platoon to manoeuvre, then maintaining suppressive fire on retreating elements of the enemy during Operation Crust Opening. SGT Mattock's actions prevented the enemy from reforming to counterattack while the mission objective was secured, and he maintaining his fire despite taking several severe wounds. (by Admin)
Commendation: Swept and cleared part of a convoy drawing enemy fire to allow EGR to maneuver then kept contact with withdrawing elements of the enemy allowing EGR to intercept and secure the Centrifuges, sustaining grievous wounds in the action. - by Admin

Operation: Op Spoiling Ghost - Endgame Red is tasked with Red Teaming Monkey Mountain, a key US communications facility. Wearing North Chelt gear and using captured weapons modified to fire blanks the aim was to reach and take the base.
Medal: Mentioned in Despatches
Reason: AWARDED Mention in Dispatches (MID) for leading unit movements through the exercise against Monkey Mountain's USAF security force during Operation Spoiling Ghost. They managed to keep control of the platoon without allowing it to fracture into more than three parts, which is a 150% improvement on the average action. (by Admin)

Operation: Op Ignoring Leave - Sneaky beaky night mission over the border into Dorset to observe and recover/destroy information on the new weapon, Wild Wurzel, which is being surreptitiously refitted to North CheltNamese aircraft by the theoretically neutral forces of the Dorset dairy farm leadership under the rule of Chairman Moo.
Medal: Silver Star Medal
Reason: AWARDED Silver Star Medal (SSM) for actions during Operation Ignoring Leave, repeatedly leading small groups against large enemy QRF forces which were blocking the pathway to injured marines, allowing their rescue when they otherwise would certainly have died from their wounds, deliberately exposing himself on several occasions to draw fire away from his comrades while they reloaded or tended minor wounds. Courageously and without regard for his own safety he crossed the open ground of the target airfield despite receiving enfilade fire from two machine-gun positions to establish whether any aircraft could serve as extraction options, and successfully shepherded his squad to a successful evacuation once the mission objectives were complete. (by Admin)
Commendation: For some Heroic actions moving to support and casualties reinforcing blue squad and for piloting all of the casualties to safety - by Admin
Commendation: Sgt Mattock courageously and without regard for his own safety, crossed the open ground of the apron at Gia Lam while under crossfire from two machinegun positions, in order to determine the state of the enemy helicopter flight line to establish whether any were flyable to provide CASEVAC to EGR. Once established, he very competently flew his crew out and made great efforts to preserve the airframe for US recovery. - by Admin
Commendation: Led several counter attacks on enemy QRF forces, extracting wounded marines that would otherwise have died of their wounds. Coordinated with squad leaders after initial assault and kept unit cohesion as casualties mounted. Then secured an enemy help, extracting several critically wounded marines from the AO who would otherwise have died. - by Admin
Commendation: Sgt Mattock led several counter attacks in an attempt to reach Beltfed who had been overwhelmed by the airfield entire garrison, punching his way through the massed Dorset forces to reach the downed marine and bring her back to the rest of the squad for evac. Additionally his Expert plioting out of the AO in the Hoplite after took out the An-2 Colts. Couldn't have made it out without him, and Clapman and Beltfed owe their lives to him. - by Admin

(by Admin)
Commendation: For another well run mission making good decisions on the most part throughout and not allowing the squad to get mired in unnecessary or dangerous engagement's. Also for successfully demonstrating how to barrel roll a laden truck and eventually get it back on its wheels again with the minimum of damage. - by Admin

Operation: Op Sure Instruction - Sweeping patrol through the Chelt countryside. Air support via our Air Force friends, and a Seahorse on standby as required.
Commendation: I just wanna give the Big Man some respect ya know. He was a machine out there. Cool, calm and collected. He was awesome. And they tell me it was him who came and collected me off the dirt when I got shot in the face with an RPG. I woul dhave bought the farm fer sure man if he hadn't come got me. And another time, when we were providing cover for the helo to land to extract Clapman, I was covering the West and took out a Chelt, only to see more movement in the bushes ahead. I fired several rounds off before the Staff Sergeant cooly emerged saying "If you come for the King, don't miss....". It was amazing man. He did the waggle and he looked so cool with his shades and big grin. And then one of the medics shot him quite a few times...... - by Admin
