Operation: Op Upright Chaplain - Part 1: Deployed to recover the crew of a crashed A-6 Intruder around 120 094 - that had fallen prey to a flak trap on the hilltop at 110 100. Both pilots recovered, two aircraft lost to flak. Part 2: Deployed to recover the single pilot of an F-100D that had crashed near Kok at 086 029. Pilot recovered but unlucky hits knocked out three Jolly Green rescue helicopters, forcing Endgame Red to extract by armoured convoy via Lag Bou.

Commendation: Whilst wounded continued to provide fire support for assaulting elements of the squad allowing EGR to overwhelm a strongly held enemy AA position. Goat continued to move and fight despite withering fire, drawing enemy attention to to him rather than the closing marine assault element. - by Admin

Operation: Op Required Bullying - 1) SAR in Dak Pek region. F111 down east of Torpex’s Crater. Survival pod failed to separate, one pilot body recovered killed on impact. Second plot recovere alive but killed by intense enemy fire en route to pickup. 2) SAR in Dak Pek region. A4 down SW of Claymore’s Crossing. Pilot recovered from parachute point alive. Evac helicopter disabled by fire at the LZ but successfully autorotated 1km N of LZ. Second evac helicopter returned to base with all hands.

Reason: For single-handedly blunting an enemy counter attack over a ridge line by charging the enemy and providing full auto suppression from the hip as he moved, killing several EI and drawing fire sufficiently to allow other squad members to relocate to effective fighting positions and prevent the squad from being flanked and overrun during Operation Required Bullying. Commendation: Singlehandedly blunted an enemy counter attack over a ridge line by charging the enemy and providing full auto suppression from the hip as he moved. This bold action killed several EI and drew enough fire for other squad members to relocate into effective fighting positions and engage the enemy. Without his timely actions the position may very well have been over run. - by Admin

Operation: Op Splitting Chopsticks - Endgame Red were dispatched on a standard helicopter airmobile assault with gunship cover to seek and destroy a Chelt Cong resupply and consolidation encampment believed to be in a jungle village in the vicinity of Nui Can Tho. Heavy bombs were deployed from C113s to prepare an LZ so as to ensure the element of surprise. Endgame Red successfully destroyed the encampment despite some stiff resistance, but a resupply aircraft was shot down during the operation. Endgame Red successfully recovered the pilot alive from the crash site, although the copilot and crew chief were killed during the crash landing. The unit fought their way to another LZ after their first extraction chopper was downed due to a combination of enemy fire and pilot error. The chopper pilot was also retrieved and both pilots were successfully recovered back to SBT Airbase.

Operation: Op Speeding Sickness - 2 x SAR in the vicinity of OP Pyle. 1 x F-100 Super Soaker, pilot recovered. 1 x something with two seats (2 A-1 Skyraiders, you heathens - Scatter), both pilots (even Jeremy) recovered.

Reason: For intense close quarters combat to prevent an overrun of the medical position during the recovery of a friendly pilot in Operation Speeding Sickness. (by Admin)

Commendation: Fought intense action at close quarters to prevent Chelt units from advancing on Endgame Red's flank and over-running medic while the unit was recovering a friendly pilot. Then promptly helped reorg of other escorted pilot despite then suffering severe burns. - by Admin

Commendation: Goat makes carrying a machine gun look easy. That's because his only weighs 2/3 of what mine does! He's a great buddy to have in a firefight. During the second half of Op Speeding Sickness when Endgame Red was attempting to rescue the second of two downed pilots from enemy hands, Blue Team was ordered to advance along the far left flank of a heavily defended enemy-held village divided by a narrow path running through an exposed rice paddy - our two machine guns were able to control the entire area and complimented each other well throughout this phase of the operation. Goat's tenacity and courage under fire allowed the pair of us to destroy an intense enemy counterattack launched from a nearby anti-air machine gun position beyond the treeline. Operation: Op Required Sandwich - Rescue the astronauts, find the microfilm, and then save Space-o the Wonder Dog.

Commendation: Recovered wounded comrades under close assault and delivered them safely to the first aid area resulting in far less casualties than might have been sustained. Goat ran through enemy fire and passed several enemy all whilst carrying incapacitated soldiers without thought of their own safety. - by Admin

Operation: Op Bear Change - SAR Operation to recover the 5 crew members of a downed E2 Hawkeye aircraft.

Medal: Bronze Star Medal (1 Gold Star)

Reason: POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED Star to their Bronze Star Medal (BSM) for actions in leaving cover and climbing onto a building so to be able to provide a withering hail of suppressive fire preventing the platoon from being close assaulted when trapped in a bowl-shaped valley with downed aircrew during Operation Bear Change. Commendation: During the extraction of a downed aircrew ERG came under sustained fire and was assaulted by a significant Chelt force. The force charged into the bowl shaped valley ERG found themselves in retrieving the aircrew. Goat climber onto a building, exposing himself to enemy fire and proceeded to lay down a withering hail of fire that blunted the assault and bought ERG time to retrieve casualties and extract the HVT all whilst round were shooting past him. Goats fire did not falter and the enemy were driven back. - by Admin

Commendation: During a particularly close Chelt counter attack through a reeded area, Goat singlehandedly held a flank, putting down weight of fire and creating enough casualties that the envelopment was delayed long enough for EGR to reposition and meet the threat. Commendation: Located several mines and IEDs along route of projected supply vehicle convoy route. Rendered the ordinance unfit to explode again later when it may have damaged needed logistics vehicles.
