Operation: Op Swinging Sweetshop - Patrol the area over the river to the east, of Dak Pek base, identify and prosecute mortar, rocket and machine gun sites.
Medal: Mentioned in Despatches
Reason: For actions in destroying Chelt artillery pieces and close-assaulting enemy positions despite being outnumbered significantly during Operation Swinging Sweetshop. (by Admin)
Commendation: I would like to bring attention to the courageous and heroic attack made by Yellow team at the time consisting of Cảnh sát viên Morris, Pvt Rain, and myself LCpl Overkill during an assault on a chelt rocket artillery position. Endgame Red having worked out the likely position of the artillery had moved to the northern side of the valley and was pushing westward. rockets again began to fall on endgame reds position, yellow as the lead element of the platoon advanced at speed in the direction of the position intending to close the gap and prevent further use of the artillery in engaging us. Having done this yellow team found themselves in a short but intense and close-range firefight with a sizeable Chelt force that easily outnumbered the team at least 3 to 1. Despite this yellow team engaged with and destroyed the attacking chelt element. When medical aid arrived to take over providing aid to Pvt Rain who had been rendered unconscious in the fighting and having mopped up a few Chelt stragglers Morris and I pushed on with the attack on the main encampment closing to the left edge of the camp and engaging additional Chelt elements with small arms and grenades, as other elements of endgame red including a now conscious pvt rain who is responsible for destroying an armed truck engaging the platoon also arrived on our right flank and we were able to clear the camp. - by Admin
Commendation: I appreciate the efforts of my assigned buddy. Whilst probably being slightly too aggressive on the assault he helped to provide a needed push when the time arose. I’m not sure the Sgt appreciated it though. - by Admin
Commendation: I think it was Rain that took out the Chelt artillery ans caused it to cook off beautifully. - by Admin

Medal: Bronze Star Medal
Reason: For single-handedly flanking and destroying with expert grenade fire a divisional antitank gun which was pinning down the platoon with heavy fire from a position of cover during Operation Reclaim Hound. (by Admin)
Commendation: Pvt Rain, armed with a spade and an attitude went to distract and assault the tank, leading it away from our medics and taking critical injuries in the process. - by Admin
Commendation: While the squad was pinned down by fire from a divisional antitank gun in a position of cover and most of the command chain were casualties, Pvt Rain flanked the gun and destroyed it with accurate M-79 fire. Pvt Rain showed initiative, aggression and expertise with his main weapon system, and his actions saved his platoon from certain destruction. - by Admin

Commendation: Organised the ground unit when Evac 1 was forced to lift due to being on fire. Without his unquestionable talents it is likely that none of those personel on the ground would have been recovered. - by Admin

Operation: Op Breaking Begonia - Deployed to a village deep in the jungle to provide defence against potential Chelt Cong saboteurs, Endgame Red found themselves mixed up in some sort of MACV-SOG operation in which vast numbers of insurgents were determined to overrun the small settlement and eliminate the special operations force there. Operation: Op Remembering Lasagna - Endgame Red provide heavy vehicle support to USMC troops defending a town and river crossing south of the Song Bin Tanh airbase. Under sustained assault and artillery bombardment, the local Chelt Cong having emptied their hidden arsenals of stolen heavy equipment in an attempt to deal a heavy blow to South Cheltnamese democracy in the region, the tank platoon and infantry were forced to pull back to reconsolidated, before assaulting back across the river after putting in airstrikes to retake the town. While losses were high, Chelt Cong insurgent activity in the region will be severely curtailed for some time to come.

Operation: Op Splitting Chopsticks - Endgame Red were dispatched on a standard helicopter airmobile assault with gunship cover to seek and destroy a Chelt Cong resupply and consolidation encampment believed to be in a jungle village in the vicinity of Nui Can Tho. Heavy bombs were deployed from C113s to prepare an LZ so as to ensure the element of surprise. Endgame Red successfully destroyed the encampment despite some stiff resistance, but a resupply aircraft was shot down during the operation. Endgame Red successfully recovered the pilot alive from the crash site, although the copilot and crew chief were killed during the crash landing. The unit fought their way to another LZ after their first extraction chopper was downed due to a combination of enemy fire and pilot error. (by Admin)
Commendation: Pvt Rain, United States Marine Corps, distinguished himself with conspicuous gallantry as a Rifleman, 1st Platoon, Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines during Operation Waiting Shoreline on 17 May 2024. During an assault on a SA-2 battery emplaced on Hill 220, the Platoon ran out of demolition charges at a critical juncture in the battle with SA-2s fıring all around them. Recognizing the danger to Marine, USAF, and Navy aircraft operating in the AO, Pvt Rain commandeered a Chelt SA-2 transporter with a missile stillon the trailer. From the drivers seat, he bravely rammed the remaining SA-2 emplacement, detonating all of the remaining air defense threats along with himself. The distinctive accomplishments of Pvt Rain reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Marine Corps, and the Department of Defense. - by Admin
Commendation: Hey Man, One Mission together.. one mission. I’d heard it was tough in the NAM but shit. The way you assaulted the hilltop under artillery and heavy gunfire was inspiring. It definitely pushed the L.T to make a decision. I’ll have a bud for you tonight. Fly high. - by Admin
