Operation Summary

SAR for the crew of an A-3D Skywarrior bomber down in the vicinity of Fuck That. While TACAIR was available and landed some hefty strikes (some on the enemy, and some on the platoon) difficulty with radio propagation meant that in the end, a Herculean effort from the infantry was required instead.

Reason: AWARDED Bronze Star Medal (BSM) for valorous conduct during SAR operations as part of Operation Press Recording. When all but one of his comrades were hors de combat due to injury. HA Bloodbath advanced determinedly on the enemy position, eliminated the machine-gunner covering the field of injured with a well-aimed hand grenade, and proceeded to treat all casualties successfully despite heavy communications interference which made effective coordination with air support impossible. Reason: POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED Star to their Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for destroying multiple approaching enemy troop-carrying vehicles at long range, allowing the USMC platoon to consolidate around a landing zone to recover a downed pilot during Operation Press Recording. These actions slowed the advance of the enemy and pinned them in place to allow air assets to neutralise the disembarking infantry before they could assault the position. (by Admin)

As our single medic, keeping us all alive. At one point where we'd all been taken out and only Bloodbath and Wrench were still up, he assessed the situation, grenaded the machine gunner that was covering the trail of corpses, then triaged and got every one of us back up.

Destroyed numerous enemy vehicles, blunting and entire motorised platoons advance on EGR as they were protecting a landing zone to allow for a pilots recovery. Their actions pinning he platoon allowed air assets to be vectored onto the squads neutralising many on the ground.

After co-ordinating support for EGR from the air Major Scatter then joined the squad on the ground, participating in several ground based actions and spotting the final member of the downed aircrew at the bottom of a cliff. He then managed the aircrews extraction as EGR provided cover from an armoured push into the retrieval area by the enemy.
