Reason: For his instrumental role and heroic actions during the rescue of Space-O the Wonder Dog from the perfidious grasp of communism, rising to the challenge of simultaneous co-ordination of heavy lift slinging, direct forward air control, forward observation and ground combat, remaining exposed in position during heavy and aggressive massed assaults by Chelt forces making use of machine gun and armour to use danger close fires and close air support to blunt the attacks until the rescue operation could be completed during Operation Normal Turf.
