Operation Summary

Garrison the fire base at Khe Gio through a series of North Chelt assaults over several days. Then, move up to the west to retake the village of Lang Mau and the river crossing beyond.

Reason: AWARDED Star to his Bronze Star Medal (BSM) for bravery and diligence in leaving the safety of the perimeter of Khe Gio firebase in order to search for and call in fires onto enemy artillery that was hammering the defensive line, doing so while under fire and close assault from enemy infantry, suffering multiple wounds while doing so in defiance of cheesemongering communist forces during Operation Weeping Ring. Reason: AWARDED Star to his Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for excellent leadership and effective perimeter sweeps during the defence of the Khe Gio firebase, defeating multiple enemy pushes during Operation Weeping Ring. (by Admin)

Reason: POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED Star to their Bronze Star Medal (BSM) for locating and assaulting an enemy battery of close support mortars while the platoon was attacking an enemy held village, neutralising many of the tubes and continuing to attack even when her primary weapon ran dry to ensure the platoon's ability to close with the enemy by occupying the mortar gunners during Operation Weeping Ring. Reason: AWARDED Star to his Bronze Star Medal for counter charging a large unit of PAVN Da Krong Commandos who were assaulting a gap in the defences, sustaining several wounds while firing his weapon from the hip to throw back the attack against the undefended area of the perimeter during the defence of the firebase at Khe Gio in Operation Weeping Ring. Reason: AWARDED Bronze Star Medal (BSM) for remaining in place to call in danger close air support on the enemy armour attempting to break past his position which was under sustained infantry attack, and in refusing to fall back prevented the loss of the village of Lang Mau to enemy counterattack during Operation Weeping Ring.
