Commendations

I would like to commend Pvt Treadwell for his courageous action during the assault on the SA2 site. having captured the hilltop he captured and used a quad AA gun to engage the enemy aircraft that were attempting to deliver reinforcements to push us off the hilltop, their action prevented a large amount of the enemy reinforcements from being able to take part in there counter push.

Pvt Treadwell proved he has the spirit of a true marine, when, in defiance of his own safety, he charged an armed SA-2 launcher to try and recover a downed squadmate. Such bravery in the face of overwhelming odds shows a true warrior spirit.

LCpl Overkill, United States Army, distinguished himself with meritorious service as a M29 Weaponeer, temporarily attached 1st Platoon, Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines during Operation Waiting Shoreline on 17 May 2024. Following a successful assault on a SA-2 battery emplaced on Hill 220, the Platoons radio had been lost due to enemy armor. Without a long range radio, Endgame Red was stuck behind enemy lines with no means of evacuation. Recognizing the existential threat to the Platoon, LCpl Overkill searched the entire SAM complex to locate a backup communication method. Upon finding a tunable long range radio in a nearby truck, he quickly guided Platoon leadership to its location. Due to his quick thinking, Endgame Red was able to communicate the destruction of the SA-2 complex, and call for evacuation. The distinctive accomplishments of LCpl Overkill reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Army, and the Department of Defense.

Note: This is not a commendation.

Hey Man, it’s totally not cool to disrespect the L.T. Especially over the radio. Overkill needs to know his place, he ain’t no better than the rest of us, giving orders.

Love, Pvt Ace Treadwell

Pvt Rain, United States Marine Corps, distinguished himself with conspicuous gallantry as a Rifleman, 1st Platoon, Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines during Operation Waiting Shoreline on 17 May 2024. During an assault on a SA-2 battery emplaced on Hill 220, the Platoon ran out of demolition charges at a critical juncture in the battle with SA-2s fıring all around them. Recognizing the danger to Marine, USAF, and Navy aircraft operating in the AO, Pvt Rain commandeered a Chelt SA-2 transporter with a missile stillon the trailer. From the drivers seat, he bravely rammed the remaining SA-2 emplacement, detonating all of the remaining air defense threats along with himself. The distinctive accomplishments of Pvt Rain reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Marine Corps, and the Department of Defense.

Hey Man,

One Mission together.. one mission.

I’d heard it was tough in the NAM but shit.

The way you assaulted the hilltop under artillery and heavy gunfire was inspiring. It definitely pushed the L.T to make a decision.

I’ll have a bud for you tonight.

Fly high.

Absolutely invaluable in taking out SA-2s and hostile flame tanks. Without Pvt Tubular the SAM site would not have been destroyed and the squad would have been burnt to death by the Chelt. His actions were intrinsic to the success of the mission, and without him the outcome would ahve been very different.

Dear Kristy Leigh,

Today I felt something stir in me that I have never felt before. We were out for a bright day of mountain climbing, and during our ascent we ran into some very disagreeable fellows in SA-2s. My Marines joyfully ran into the fray under my battle cry of OFF WE GO "Hey Diddle Diddle Right Up The Middle!" and we crested INTO the summit. While enjoying the view, we spotted a Fan Song radar, which had been shooting down USAF aircraft. I destroyed the Fan Song, and that's when my vision went completely blue! All I could see was THE WILD BLUE YONDER, and images of Billy Mitchell as he went CLIMBING HIGH INTO THE SUN. A sense of profound fulfillment washed over me as I though AT 'EM BOYS, GIVE 'EM THE GUN! Not long after, the enemy counterattacked causing us to take cover. My first instinct was to tell everyone DOWN WE DIVE to get to safety, but my Marines kept SPOUTING OUR FLAME FROM UNDER. It was about that time that a optically guided SA-2 launched OFF WITH ONE HELLUVA ROAR. Lacking any remaining explosives, our enterprising enlisted jumped into a truck and rammed the launcher. I can only assume that in their heads they were thinking WE LIVE IN FAME OR GO DOWN IN FLAME. It worked! We destroyed all of the air defense on the hilltop, and I was able to radio it in. Soon a flight of F-4 Phantoms arrived overhead, supporting with napalm. As the heat waves from the exploding canisters rippled over my muscular sun tanned body, aviator sunglasses, and blond flowing hair, I was wrapped in the total calm that can only come by knowing that NOTHING'LL STOP THE US AIR FORCE!

Please tell Cindy Bea and Michelle Sue that I have almost finished gathering funds for the construction of our new Eden. Found a great spot out in Idaho.

Much Love,

QQ Havercruft III Esq
