Operation Remembering Lasagna

Campaign: ChelteNam · Fri 10 May 2024

OPERATION RECORD // AFTER ACTION REPORT

Operation Summary

Endgame Red provide heavy vehicle support to USMC troops defending a town and river crossing south of the Song Bin Tanh airbase. Under sustained assault and artillery bombardment, the local Chelt Cong having emptied their hidden arsenals of stolen heavy equipment in an attempt to deal a heavy blow to South Cheltnamese democracy in the region, the tank platoon and infantry were forced to pull back to reconsolidated, before assaulting back across the river after putting in airstrikes to retake the town. While losses were high, Chelt Cong insurgent activity in the region will be severely curtailed for some time to come.

Commendations

I would like to commend Howser for excellent driving during the operation. His skill at the wheel of an M67 Flame Thrower Tank operated by Red team kept the vehicle and its crew alive, at times under fire from numerous hostile elements, some of which included vehicles that we were unequipped to deal with ourselves. his skill in theses situations keep the tank and crew alive with minimal damage until such time as we could withdraw and conduct field repairs.

His skill at driving as described above was not only vital in protecting his vehicles but was paramount in the recovery of a critically disabled but repairable M48 tank operated by Green team, during endgame Reds initial attempts to help hold Kien Tong Greens tank had been disabled, and despite a large chelt assault Howser returned to tow the tank away so that it could be returned to service and not fall into the hands of the chelt menace.

During the intense battle to hold the village, Morris dismounted from his vehicle after it was disabled and engaged the enemy at close range on foot.
Morris worked closely with the platoon's M48A3 as they moved through the village, on numerous occasions repelling infantry with anti tank weapons who were attempting to close assault the vehicle, allowing the M48 to effectively engage and destroy priority targets.
Morris demonstrated exceptional valor, skill and situational awareness, and was able to coordinate with the vehicle's combat manoeuvring without using audio communication, greatly improving the tactical load on the vehicle crew.

The whole evening was so confusing, I don't know how Havercruft did it. Fair play to that man, we didn't all die.
