Wilbur upgraded the garrison defences with additional protection vastly reducing the severity of incoming fire during the operation. The defensive position constructed atop the central bunker was of particular note, as it was built with a keen eye that allowed excellent fire arcs while still providing great protection.

Working concert with another EGR team member Scatter provided accurate and timely mortar fire, danger close to the FOB that blunted a number of EI attacks. Without this artillery support the FOB would have been over run
At one point Scatter personally defended his mortar position at close quarters from enemy forces that had breached the perimeter. Once both mortars were functional Scatter then fought on the front line of the base defense, being wounded and refusing to leave the line.

Captain Scatter was so good on this ground Op! he says he hates being on the ground but he really showed his mettle here, he offered onvaluable advice to the chain of command, on the spot Fire support from the in base mortars (despite not being trained on this model and lacking a rang card) and i personally witnessed him kill multiple Chelt that had infiltrated the base in one case saving the medics. If you ask me he should be transferred to the infantry, he was so good!

Volunteered to leave the safety of the FOB and, whilst under fire, retrieved needed airdropped supplies that had fallen outside the perimeter and view of the FOB.

While Endgame Red was defending a firebase and under close assault from multiple directions, PO1 Patches' professional and accurate calls for and adjustemnts to mortar fire allowed the firebase's 107mm mortars to be effectively employed against danger close targets, disrupting several assaults and allowing the destruction of Chelt direct fire weapons overwatching the MSR through the A Shau Valley, preventing the destruction of several US convoys passing along the route.

Working alongside another EGR member, Patches directed the FOB mortars to provide timely and pinpoint accurate suppression of a number of enemy assaults on the base. This fire by don't of it's accuracy and response time, prevented several assaults breaching the FOB perimeter. She further directed mortar assets in neutralising of enemy artillery and direct fire assets overlooking the base. In addition Patches was instrumental in treating wounded whilst under fire and protecting downed marines when in close contact with the enemy.
