Screenshots and After-Action Reports

1st Platoon is requested to support local SouthChelteNam forces in operations around Camp 43, a holding area for prisoners. Arriving at the camp after some light contact, the platoon discover that several prisoners with connections to the Chelt Cong in the area have escaped (there are hints that they were allowed to escape so as to be followed) and that they are intended to recapture them.

The camp comes under a sustained Chelt Cong attack, apparently with the intention of freeing the remaining prisoners, but with the support of the camp garrison 1st Platoon defeat the attacks and proceed SE towards a plantation in the direction the escapees fled. The journey is interrupted by a Chelt Cong ambush arranged around a small minefield, and while there are some tense moments with the theft of the unit's ambulance M113, the platoon eventually breaks contact and continues to the plantation, where intel is retrieved from the representative of a new NGO working in-country (IDAP).

Proceeding parallel to the riverside road, there are some small contacts with roving CC patrols, until a dying convict is found abandoned (apparently at his own instigation) by the roadside. Intel from this individual indicates there is some sort of base in the hills to the east of his position. The platoon moves in this direction, but is hit with heavy fire from concealment - the "some sort of base" is a heavily dug-in multiple-level bunker and trench network hidden in the thick jungle covering the hilltop. With no alternative but to use smoke for concealment and close assault to avoid being cut to pieces by emplacement weapons, 1st Platoon storms the bunker complex with maximum aggression, eventually emerging victorious but extremely low on ammunition and medical supplies.

With enemy reinforcements closing in and the supply state too precarious for a lengthy resistance, demolition charges were set to deny any remaining materiel within the base, and a helicopter is called in for extraction, which puts down just as the LZ comes under attack. Owing to a miscalculation, there isn't enough space in the helicopter, with Machine and Spud unable to board. Wardaddy gives up his seat for Spud, and the helicopter lifts out as he and Machine lay down their last remaining ammunition in covering fire before being overrun by Chelt and captured.
