PO3 Bungalow awarded Silver Star Medal: AWARDED Star to their Silver Star Medal (SSM) for meritorious conduct over and above the call of duty during casualty recovery operations as part of Operation Pure Pie. Despite rocket battery fire creeping ever closer to the exposed casualty collection point, PO3 Bungalow, knowing he could not move the large number of his injured comrades to a safer position in time, chose to remain in place to ensure as many casualties as possible could be rendered stable to give them the best chance of surviving the bombardment, and was incapacitated by critical wounds when shielding his charges with his own body.
Pvt Beltfed awarded Bronze Star Medal: AWARDED Bronze Star Medal (SSM) for successfully calling in medical support despite having no long-range radio when all but one of her unit were down as casualties, then charging at and opening sustained fire upon the opposing PAVN position to draw their fire upon herself to allow the medevac helicopters to land in what would otherwise have been a catastrophically hot LZ, saving the lives of many of her comrades during riverine operations in Operation Pure Pie.
Pvt Burgerboy awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation: AWARDED Star to their Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for spearheading a successful counterattack against a Chelt Cong assault force reacting to the platoon assault on a river overwatch position, allowing the unit medics to render multiple casualties from the other squad combat effective and achieve victory during Operation Pure Pie.
PFC Gucci awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation: AWARDED Star to their Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for efforts undertaken on riverine ops as part of Operation Pure Pie, during which they displayed a strong eye for terrain in forming and conducting assaults on enemy positions, an elevated sense of when to close assault machine gun positions, and a moderate disregard for personal cover, attributes which on balance supported the unit goals.
SA JCB awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation: AWARDED Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for actions during riverbank clearances as part of Operation Pure Pie. CA JCB used improvised explosives at close range to blast an entry point through an enemy defensive line, exposing himself to enemy fire to do so.
