SAR for the crew of an A-3D Skywarrior bomber down in the vicinity of Fuck That. While TACAIR was available and landed some hefty strikes (some on the enemy, and some on the platoon) difficulty with radio propagation meant that in the end, a Herculean effort from the infantry was required instead.

Awards and Medals

SA Bloodbath awarded Bronze Star Medal: AWARDED Bronze Star Medal (BSM) for valorous conduct during SAR operations as part of Operation Press Recording. When all but one of his comrades were hors de combat due to injury. HA Bloodbath advanced determinedly on the enemy position, eliminated the machine-gunner covering the field of injured with a well-aimed hand grenade, and proceeded to treat all casualties successfully despite heavy communications interference which made effective coordination with air support impossible.
1Lt Greensquare awarded Air Medal: AWARDED Air Medal (AM) for accurate and timely napalm attack against infantry in the open during SAR activity as part of Operation Press Recording, achieving hits on target with limited talk-on and successfully avoiding the majority of friendly ground troops.
Cpl Slump awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation: AWARDED Star to their Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for leading his recon squad to pin enemy patrols while pathfinding during SAR activity as part of Operation Press Recording, allowing the platoon to envelop and destroy multiple contacts with minimal casualties and capture supplies to continue the mission and successfully extract the downed aircrew.
PFC Gucci awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation: AWARDED Star to their Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for locating and recovering downed aircrew from an A-3D Skywarrior under fire as USMC forces overran a heavily defended enemy position in Operation Press Recording.
Pvt Godrod awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation: POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED Star to their Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for destroying multiple approaching enemy troop-carrying vehicles at long range, allowing the USMC platoon to consolidate around a landing zone to recover a downed pilot during Operation Press Recording. These actions slowed the advance of the enemy and pinned them in place to allow air assets to neutralise the disembarking infantry before they could assault the position.
Maj Scatter awarded Air Force Achievement Medal: AWARDED Star to his Air Force Achievement Medal (AFAM) for successfully arranging multiple airstrikes in the defence of downed airmen from an A-3D Skywarrior during SAR as part of Operation Press Recording.
