Awards and Medals

SA Bungalow awarded Silver Star Medal: AWARDED Silver Star Medal (SSM) for actions during SAR Operations when leaving the safety of the evacuation helicopter as it was forced to lift off due to intense enemy fire in the LZ, in order to support and recover platoon casualties who had been shot during the move to the evacuation point, defending their bodies and keeping several of them stable until air support and an additional evacuation helicopter could arrive to sanitize the LZ and recover the marines to safety during Operation Old Dingo.
PFC Bacon awarded Navy and Marine Corps Medal: AWARDED Navy and Marine Corps Medal (NMCM) for acting as squad radio operator and co-ordinating with great skill with air support to destroy enemy concentrations before they could engage the platoon and the aircrew they were escorting during SAR Operations as part of Operation Old Dingo.
Pvt Disco awarded Bronze Star Medal: AWARDED Star to their Bronze Star Medal (BSM) for supporting the platoon medic when refusing evacuation so as to be able to ensure all USMC casualties shot during the move to the LZ were recovered and defended until further evac could be arranged during Operation old Dingo.
Pvt Tubular awarded Bronze Star Medal: AWARDED Bronze Star Medal (BSM) for actions in exposing himself to withering enemy fire from a suppressing PT-76 that had pinned down the entire platoon in order to take an AT shot that successfully destroying the attacking armoured vehicle, taking several wounds but allowing the platoon to extract safely during SAR activity as part of Operation Old Dingo.
Capt Scatter awarded Air Medal: AWARDED Star to his Air Medal (AM) for FAC operations in support of platoon movements to rescue downed airmen, enabling the unit to cover a wider area of search without being interdicted by large numbers of hostile blocking forces during Operation Old Dingo.
2Lt Havercruft awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation: AWARDED Star to their Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for effective leadership and personally locating and securing a member of the downed aircrew during search and rescue operations as part of Operation Old Dingo.
Sgt Sauceman awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation: POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED Star to their Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V (NMCCM-V) for displaying aggression, accuracy, and a significantly higher than usual kill count during rescue operations as part of Operation Old Dingo.
LCpl Overkill Mentioned in Despatches: POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED Mention in Dispatches (MID) for reflexes and observational skills that prevented the platoon from being surprised by enemy patrols on multiple occasions during SAR operations as part of Operation Old Dingo.
