Setting out from Camp Striker, Endgame Red headed NW to the fortified village of Ban Dac Maruc to aid the local Chelt forces in recovering the crew of a downed helo, and clearance of the AA guns that took them down. Once recovered, Endgame Red was sent back out to fortify the village of Phouvong against rumoured Chelt vehicle attacks.
With WO1 Kent in charge, End Game Red (and friends) were tasked to aid local Chelt forces in recovering the aircrew of a downed helicopter, and eliminating the AA site that downed it. A truck and guard jeep took the unit as far as the fortified village of Ban Dac Maruc from where they proceeded on foot towards where the helo had been seen to crash. In loose line progress was made in a general SWly direction, sweeping the jungle in the process. Contact was made first with the AA battery, which consisted of 3 guns. After a short, firefight the positon was taken, excess ammunition used to help repel a counter attack, and then the location denied to the enemy with explosives. With no sign of the helo and it's crew, the unit continued south to the friendly village of Ban Onglouang for more information. Armed with a bearing from the village the unit set out again, and this time found the crashsite, and all three aircrew. As their wounds werebeing seen to a North Chelt counter attack was repulsed, and then the crew were escorted back to Ban Dac Maruc.
Tasked next to the village of Phouvong, Endgame Red were ambushed twice while on route, stopping to deal with the first, and blowing throw the second due to it's proximity to the village. Hostiles in the immediate surrounds were quickly eliminated before the village was fortifed to enable it to resist the advance of an enemy motorised group. Fortunately, the jungle dealt with most of the threat, but several enemy vehicles did make it through. These were swiftly dispatched, along with the infantry survivors of those lost to the trees. The huey sent to retrieve the team was shot down by hostile fire, so the unit sallied forth to destroy that position too, before returning to the village for evac.
