Operation Summary

Land by glider near the town of Saint Lo, take the nearby field airstrip and then enter the mostly-destroyed town to take and hold the bridge over the river. This will block enemy reinforcements from being able to move quickly south to crush the beachheads and enable friendly support to link up and push into occupied France.

Commendations

Flatcap
Counter attacked an enemy push. Going up hill and against superior numbers. Flat cap halted the enemy advance and allowed the squad to secure the airfield and then withdraw on good order.

Locating and securing much needed supplies whilst under fire. Wurzel then went on to fortify the southern bank of the river, which proved instrumental in the defence of the bridge.

Defence of medical station which prevented it being over-run and the squad being unable to continue its mission. Binky also provided vital overwatch during the squad's advance to the bridge, allowing other members to close and assault the German fortifications.
