The CheltNAM campaign is one rich in equipment and vehicles, utilising as it does, vehicles and weapons from the NATO, Warsaw pact and neutral nations' armouries from the cold war period and before. Players are likely to come into contact with equipment from the 1940s to late 1960s, most being of types used by combatants in the conflicts that occurred in the South East Asian region during this time.
As a result, the minutiae can be bewildering to a new player or someone not familiar with the military hardware of historical period in which the campaign is set. As real time goes on, the rough historical period in which the campaign is set does advance and with it comes changes in technology linked to the period of the setting, with this change in technology comes changes to doctrine, equipment and the diplomatic and political landscape of the fictitious area in which the game is set.
NOTE: Player action and the performance of the squad can also drastically alter the above elements, as you may see if you read any of the after action reports of campaign overviews that are available on this Wiki.
For the benefit of players, below are links to a set of guides whose aim is to give a new player a degree of familiarity as to the equipment and vehicles they may come across 'in country'.
