We got dropped off at the first village and told to set up away from the civilian structures, this meant Blue ended up too far to the west to do much initially, but a patrol of the village uncovered no signs of enemy activity, so that was something at least. Once Yellow came under serious assault we moved up just in time to be grenaded from the far bank. Returning the compliment we covered Yellow while they mediced then pulled back to the chopper to resupply and await tasking.
We didn’t have to wait long and the next village was a fast-rope job. Which everyone always enjoys. As we moved up to the village we heard gunfire form the North and joined the SouthChelts in their defence of the area. The NorthChelts were vectoring their assault along a road, but using the long grasses to either side for cover. Things got spicy but eventually the attacks were repulsed and a supply helo called in. Said helo was taken out by AA fire and the decision was made to find the AA gun and deny it to the enemy.
Both squads moved off, with Blue in the lead. Contact was made and Yellow flanked to Blue’s left and were soon heavily engaged. Blue then moved to cover Yellow and found a mass-cas situation. The living were pulled back to a safer position (shock, position was not much safer) and a triage station set up while the Air Force were called in to soften up the hostile position before a decisive assault. The AA gun and village were swiftly cleared leaving only a small contingent of NorthChelt forces holding out in a natural rock bunker in the village centre. With the entrance guarded to prevent their escape, the Chelt Forces became desperate and inflicted large casualties upon both Blue and Yellow teams before we were able to muster a combined force to storm the cave and put down the last dregs of resistance.
The cave was found to be a command centre and so several members of Mil-Int were sent to evaluate what was found. A push by the Chelt to stop the capture of the intelligence was repulsed and everyone went home for coffee and medals. Apart from those who died, they get no coffee, although some of them might get medals.
Of note - 1) our medics are great (Patches for Generalissimo)
2) LCpl Blitz nicked all the spare ammo from my rifleman
3) Tonks is a good boy
4) I need to get quicker at pulling my pistol when hostiles appear right in front of me (although shouting a lot was effective and did mean the dude got shot a lot)
5) I probably grenaded Top, but in my defence he was already down and there was a Chelt right on top of him with an RPG aiming it at me
6) Blue team still best team. - Obvs

They say you have to stay on the aircraft until it has come to a complete stop, but that's just big air trying to con you…
We were QRF. We decided to cut out the middle man and assaulted the baddy base as it was full of AA. By accident. It was messy. And the cunts hid in a rock.
